25. Radiation – getting my geek on

Last time round, radiation was the last stage of my treatment. I had 21 low doses on consecutive days, zapping my breast (where the first lump was). The thinking in using low doses was that it’s a bit like sunbathing – one long bask and you’ll burn, whereas shorter, more gradual exposure is safer (although... Continue Reading →

24. Coming out of the cave

Right, I’m back. Yes, I’ve been in my cave for a while, for various reasons, some of which I’ve shared and some you’ve yet to hear – ahhh the joys of the steroids – but as that’s an ongoing saga, I’ll save that one for now 😉 So, what’s bringing me out of my cave?... Continue Reading →

23. Radio silence

So the blog’s been a bit quiet lately, right? Sorry about that – I know a few people have been wondering / asking if things are ok. So again, in the hope of being honest, but in the spirit of being Boxy, I’m going to share a little... Continue Reading →

20a. The Reality: pre-op

So I’m going to try and keep these two posts short - partly because my brain hurts if I type for too long - seriously it’s a thing! - and partly because whilst it’s the truth, it’s not the nice stuff people necessarily like to read. But I did promise to be honest, so I... Continue Reading →

18. The op

We know I 🧡 living in 🇳🇱 but a little British Bulldog is keeping me company this week too... #meetBertie Pre op... Post op... Recovery room... Plenty of geeky detail and photos to come, but for now I’m good - just dozey, sleepy and generally coming round... 👍 Big love #Boxy xx

17. So far, so good!

So the drain’s in, the air’s coming out, the X-ray shows my lung is inflating properly again and I can feel my breathing is getting back to normal. Happy days people! It’s a tad uncomfortable having a pipe sticking out of your back, but in the grand scheme of things, I can breathe properly again... Continue Reading →
